Maudie (15 weeks old DSH black female) was born with her sisters Jean-Louise and Calpurnia on a boat, and has been bottle fed and hand-raised since she was 3 weeks old,  in her foster home she  was around other cats and dogs. She is named after the exceptional neighbor in “To Kill A Mockingbird”, that the children in the novel consider their best friend and confidant.  Maudie is very wise, has the biggest saucer eyes that seem to take in everything you say, and is always by the side of her sister, Calpurnia, whom is her best friend. Just like her literary namesake, Maudie has the most delicious sense of humor, and has a very playful streak, and will do anything for a plastic spring or ball to chase across the floor.  We also affectionately and jokingly call her “Naughty Maudie”, because all of a sudden during her play sessions, a grin will cross her adorable face and she will try something crazy, like pouncing on sleeping Atticus to wake him up, or running silly circles around the room, and then plop down, seemingly laughing at the fun of it. When play is over, she wants nothing more than a warm spot on your lap, where she will kiss you, rub on you, and fall asleep to the beat of your heart. She is precious, and would love to meet you.
