Rakki means lucky in Japanese.  And this is one lucky kitten to have been rescued by a woman who saw a hawk standing next to this kitten in the middle of the road.  Best guess is that the hawk had snatched the kitten up, but dropped it and was in the process of retrieving its prey when the friend of one of our loyal rescuers moved in to get the kitten. Rakki was brought to LOCRA where he is being cared for by one of our foster moms.
